Lao Tzu

Lao Tzu was born in China in 571 b.c. He was a model of universal harmony. His teaching, recorded the "Tao Te Ching" book, was so simple, yet so profound. His instruction revealed the truth of every aspect of the universe.

In the begining, there is "Tao" or the True Way. Tao manifests by Yin and Yang. The dynamic tension of the two creates Heaven, Earth and Human. All life is possible thanks to Chi, which is the life breath of the Universe.

Any person who is motivated to attain awareness of the Eternal Truth and to restore his Original Divine Nature should follow the Universal Way to calm his mind and harmonize it with all aspects of Life. Following the Universal Way means practicing selflessness and extending virtue to the world unconditionally.

Unconditional sincerity is what evokes a response from the subtle realm of universal divine power.

A person who is highly evolved leaves behind all concepts of individuality and extends impersonal love to include all existence. His very being benefits all life. His every movement and activity evoke a response from the subtle energy of the universe.  When he does not limit himself by imposing conditions on rendering service to others, the blessing evoked will also be limitless.

A truly virtuous person cannot be indifferent to the trouble world in which he lives and must develop skills and methods by which to help himself and others. He considers the world his family and accepts all people as his brothers and sisters. He respects natural variety and differences and treats all beings as equal.

Those who turns to deities as intermediaries between themselves and the Eternal Truth are like beggars who looks outside themselves for the very treasure contained within their own nature.

If a person looks for the Path outside himself, he will find his shadow and depart from the true substance. Because one departs from his own nature to search for something external, he overlooks the Truth of his own being. To Be is to be True.

Awareness of man's Original Divine Nature is like watching the reflection of the moon on the surface of a still lake. Actually the moon is not in the lake, but if clouds appear and cover the moon, people say that it has departed from the lake, yet it has gone nowhere. The Universal Soul is always present, always available to guide, but the clouds of the mind create the phenomena of apparent separation.

The universe (cosmic body) and the particles (individual being) are not separate, isolated objects. One small particle contains the nature of the universe, and the universe contains the nature of each small particle. Each small particle is an entire world in itself. One cannot be distinguished as being primary and the other as secondary because in reality there is no difference between the two. The direct perception of this Oneness is blocked by established mental concepts which separate us from the Truth.

Tao is complete. It is like a big tree with roots, trunk, branches, twigs, leaves, flowers, and fruits. When one takes any single portion as the whole, one creates a distorted worldly religion or a fragmented worldly science. Tao is everything that serves the true nature of Life. Religious sects which emphasize the development of only one aspect of one's being through the rigid practice of extreme austerity, unnatural disciplines, or conforming to external dogma lead nowhere, because these practices contradict the Universal Way of Life.

A big tree with its roots, trunk, branches, twigs, leaves, flowers, and fruits, begins from a tiny seed, just as the multi-universe originates from invisible particles of Energy. All forms come from the formless. The visible world is the subtle manifestation of the unmanifest.

All plants, animals, races of people, and many kinds of insects are images and symbols of the Energy of various natural environments and are associated with the network of rays from the sun, the moon and from different stars. The first invisible seeds of energy bestowed on the earth originated from this network of energy rays.

That's why "Heaven is our father and Earth is our mother. All living things are our brothers and sisters". We must respect and be at peace with all the various forms of life, no matter how different they may appear. With regard to whether a person is responsible for the lives of others, it is not a question of responsibility, but of how one manifest one's energy.

Substance is merely the condensation of Energy; everything in the universe is an expression of the subtle path and universal law.

The world of ideology is merely a distorted reflection of the mind. It is a mental delusion, a deviation from the real world. In reality, everything is integral, because the Universal Way is the only way that exists. Duality is merely an illusory product of the mind. In order to perceive the Integral Reality of the universe, it is necessary to transcend the mental process of separation and fragmentation.

Attachment to the false images of the mind is the greatest obstacle to reaching awareness of the Integral Truth of the universe. It is the accumulation of dust and dirt, gathered while living in the world, that prevents one from truly experiencing the fulless of life. Once the dust and dirt are cleansed away, one suddenly becomes brilliantly illuminated with the awareness of Integral Unity. When one dissolves the illusion of separation from the source of the Universal Soul, one restores one's own original, pure being. Clarity and enlightment are brought about without one's having to move an inch, for the Integral Truth is always found within one's own True Nature.

The Universal Way of life does not entail on adding; it depends on decreasing: eliminate the clinging tendency and instead keep the mind detached and whole. People deviate from their True Nature and thus feel the need to do something to rectify their deviation, yet the more they do the farther they stray. The movement created by the attempt to rectify, such as turning to religion for help or escape, is just another deviation from the correct channel in which one's energy should flow. Followers of religion are always looking for inner peace, but they loose their inner peace in searching for it. When people stop such restless activity, their integrity is spontaneously there. The solution lies in Nondoing.

If one dissolves one's ego, what can be called pain and what misfortune? What can be called happiness and what good fortune?

One should empty one's mind by clearing away confusions and disorders. However, spending all his time and energy in quiet sitting meditation is only fixing his mind in a narrow way. This is not empty-mindedness, but only narrow-mindedness. Such practice does not lead anywhere. The practice of whole-mindedness is not the practice of stiffness. The mind should be like water that is always flowing smoothly.

Just relax your body and quiet your senses. Forget that you are one among many. Undo the mind and allow it to return to its virgin purity. Loosen the spirits within you. Thus all things return to their root, and because there is no separation between them and their source, their return goes unrecognized. Do not be curious about its name and do not be awe of its forms. Then the Truth will present itself to you naturally of itself and you will join in Oneness with deep and boundless Reality. This is what it means to be an Integral One.

Greed for enlightenment and for the mysteries of the universe is just an obstacle for those who aspire to follow the Eternal Truth as is greed for material wealth. Instead of desiring to attain high wisdom, one should merely practice indiscriminative virtue by extending service to the world. All one needs to do is to follow the Universal Way of life. Then one will naturally connect oneself with the Ultimate Truth of the universe.

Human Origin

The High Energy of the Subtle Origin of the universe is unique and pure. It is absolutely positive, creative, constructive, and existing above the twisted realm of duality.

Human life and all things in the universe begin in this subtle realm of the unmanifest and are then brought forth into the realm of the manifest where they assume physical form. Through this process, they have to endure

The full evolution of a human being in this relative sphere (earth) is attained through being correctly aware of how to enhance one's positive energy and eliminate negative elements. Through his self-cultivation, he can work for his own betterment and the development of new Life.

When one reconnects oneself with the Energy of the Subtle Origin of the universe, one can eliminate all negative influences of the conflicting, dualistic lower spheres.

A virtuous individual who responds to the high, pure, harmonious Subtle Energy and integrates them with the higher elements of his own inner being will strenthen his life, then, through positive influence, helps those who are connected with him.

The interwoven Energy Net influences the lives of individual human beings, whole societies, and entire universe.

Citation from Tao Te Ching:

The Tao that can be named is not the Eternal Tao,

The nameless is the beginning of Heaven and Earth.

Tao abides in non-action,

Yet nothing is left undone.

All things arise from Tao.

By Virtue they are nourished, developed, cared for,

Sheltered, comforted, grown, and protected.

Creating without claiming,

Assisting without taking credit,

Guiding without interfering,

This is Primal Virtue

In the Universe great acts start with small deeds,

The Sage does not attempt anything great,

And thus achieves greatness.

He who guides people must serve with humility because from humility comes leadership,

He who leads them must put himself behind,

When he rules, people will not feel oppressed,

He will have everyone's support and people will not be tired of him.

The more laws and regulations there are,

The more trouble exists in the nation.

In the pursuit of Tao, every day something is dropped,

Until non-action is achieved,

Then nothing is left undone.

Concept of "Non-Action" described by Lao Tze

Consider the world around: the earth circles the sun, the four seasons come and go, the birds migrate and return, Life goes by itself, nobody is "acting" to make things work, however the world is evolving naturally, everything is at its right position. Unwise "Action" by man can screw things up and disturb the natural order of the universe.

The awakened man does not seem to Act, but is really doing everything right by his "Non-Action". He follows the Law of Nature as well as the laws of his country, and effortlessly let the Light Within Himself guides every of his activity and move.
